Veerle Pieters, graphic and web designer

About Veerle

Veerle Pieters is a graphic and web designer. She was born in Belgium in 1969. Showing signs of creativity even as a young girl, she used to write her name and other words backwards. She loved to draw, developing her own style of illustration that can be seen in her work today.

Veerle says that she chooses her clients based on the connection she feels with them. She has worked on many projects large and small, is well-known for her tutorials covering CSS, and enjoys keeping a blog to share inspiration and tips for other designers.

Aside from graphic and web design, Veerle also enjoys exploring the details of modern home design. She loves biking, house music, and traveling. She is very proud to be Belgian, but she is also inspired by the cultures and artwork of the countries around her.

Dynamic Duoh!

Veerle began her career in 1992 under the name Duoh! Originally focusing on freelance print design, she soon recognized the need to create within the digital realm as well. Fearlessly wandering into uncharted territory, she quickly acquired skill and a unique style in website design, intranet interfaces, and multimedia.

The company's capabilities further expanded in 2000 with the addition of Geert Leyseele, the other half of Duoh! and Veerle's other half. They are "partners in life and work," Veerle says, "balancing each other." Web standards, project management, and information architecture are Geert's areas of expertise. Together, these two make up the "beauty and brains" that combine to make Duoh! a success.
